Title: Persistence Makes Perfect
Unit for Points: Kis-My-Ft2
Word Count: 100 x 6
Characters/Pairings: Tamamori/Miyata
Notes: I'm pretty sure this counts as AU. ;) Also, it was totally not going anywhere, so I gave up. OOPS.
“Why not?”
“I’m not getting a flying squirrel, Tama, seriously. No.” Miyata does his best to sound final about it, but Tamamori doesn’t seem to be getting the hint.
“But then they’d have babies! We could be parents together,” he wheedles.
“...that’s just weird.” Miyata turns back to the magazine he’s been browsing, but he can feel Tamamori’s pout.
“You don’t want to marry me?”
Miyata flips the magazine closed and turns to face him. “Okay, wait, what?”
Tamamori gives him a not-so-shy smile. “I like you.”
“It’s too early for this.” Miyata closes his eyes.

“But why not?” Tamamori asks again. “I said I like you! What else am I supposed to do?”
Miyata sighs. “Yeah, that’s all great and whatever, but you can’t just say that and expect...” He trails off. “What do you expect, anyway?”
“You could be my boyfriend,” Tamamori offers.
Miyata blinks. “But why would I do that?”
“Because I want you to.”
“...yeah, I’m not sure it works that way,” Miyata says, frowning.
“You don’t like me?”
Miyata splutters. “What? No, I like you. I mean, well, no. Wait, not like-” he cuts himself off.

Miyata wonders if Tamamori’s new pet hasn’t nibbled out some part of his brain or something. They’re friends and all, sure, but then Tamamori turned around one day and randomly started... Miyata isn’t really sure what he’s doing, actually. Courting him? Or something. Completely overnight, he’d started up relentlessly with the I like you’s and the go out with me’s.
Miyata is pretty sure it has to do with Teto. It’s definitely the squirrel’s fault.
“Are you sure you’re not allergic to it?” Miyata asks.
“Why would you think that?” Tamamori wonders.
“...never mind.”
*****
“Don’t you think Tama’s acting a little weird lately?” MIyata asks under his breath. Tamamori’s far enough away and focused on straightening his bangs, so he doesn’t think he’ll notice.
“Weird how?” Nikaido replies, eyeing Tamamori across the room.
“Weird like... I don’t know.” Miyata isn’t sure how to explain, and it’s kind of embarrassing. “Just saying weird things.”
“Not any more than usual,” Nikaido says.
Miyata looks away. “He said he likes me.”
Nikaido snorts, but when Miyata doesn’t say anything further, seems to realize that Miyata isn’t joking.
Nikaido stares. “...yeah, okay, that is pretty weird.”
*****
“It’s weird,” Miyata hisses. “I can’t get him to stop.” His face is bright red from Tamamori’s latest confession.
“Just tell him you’ll go out with him,” Nikaido suggests.
“But I don’t want to go out with him!” Miyata glares. “It’s Tama.”
Nikaido shrugs. “So then tell him you don’t want to.”
Miyata wilts. “But then he’ll make the sad eyes at me, and you know what sad eyes are like.”
“Tama’s are weak,” Nikaido scoffs.
“Only because you’re a sucker for Senga’s,” Miyata points out.
Nikaido scowls. “Yeah, well.”
*****
“Come on, Miyacchiiiiii,” Tamamori whines in close-range, leaning his chin on Miyata’s shoulder. “I’ve told you like a million times. How many more times am I supposed to say it?”
Miyata shrugs him off. “You could just stop if you’re tired of it?”
“But I can’t stop until you say it back,” Tamamori explains. “Hasshi said so.”
Miyata stops in shock. “Hasshi?
“Well, he’s got everybody in his group to like him, and some other people, too,” Tamamori explains. “And I’m just trying to get you.”
“Hasshi,” Miyata repeats.
“I think he’s kind of a genius.”
