Resolutions... well, I'm not entirely sure that's the right word.
Everybody calls 'em resolutions, but in my case it's more a list of shit I got to get done this year. Since I'm loving the recaps lately, let's check out 2006.

I randomly found this article in a magazine in a bar in Portland. I can't find anything about it anywhere online, and it's just too good to let it languish in some back issue. Thanksgiving... from the before time
My grandmother found this letter in a desk drawer in her house... obviously it's been there for some time. It chronicles Thanksgiving, 1985 at our house. My uncle Rich had just gotten one of those newfangled portable computers for his job, so he used it to write a journal of the weekend that he later sent to grandma. Yesterday I posted about how it takes five seconds for the sound from lightning to go a mile. Well, last night we had lightning strike about 500 feet from our house! The flash was incredibly bright, and the sound was something akin to the atmosphere tearing open ( Read more... ) -

Escape from Alcatraz: successful.
Welp... good enough reason as any for a post. I've been keeping to my triathlon-a-month plan so far this year, and June's race was the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. After a bit of googling for the phone number, I found This 42 page long thread of people who had similar charges on their credit cards. One guy even had charges from these guys on TWO of his credit cards! ( Read more... )
