Sometimes it's hard not to think the universe is in a snit.

I can name 4 people on my friends list right now with dead, dying, or critically ill relatives.

Gah. I'd really like to not see this as a trend, but it's hard.

{sigh}

head, people

:( :( :(

You can make that 5 people. I got a call from my mom last night saying my sister, who's been ill for a long time is doing the worst she's ever been and they're really worried.

It can all just stop now, y'know???

you can add 1 more.
My brother-in-law is in the ICU and is having a chest tube placed in the next hour to try to get some of the fluid out before he has emergency coronary surgery. And this is only 4 months aftr my mother's death.

Thank you. Good news is that he's out of surgery and might be home on Thursday.

Know there are comforting thoughts for you and your family.

Unfortunately, dying and death are a natural part of life. It can really suck sometimes, but keep reminding yourself that there is a lot of good to life as well.

I know my circle of caring/loving friends/chosen family is what keeps me going in the darkest moments.

First: what she said. Second, as we get older, we are going to be seeing more and more of this. Yes, my mother passed at what is perhaps thought of as a early age now (62) last year, but the time will come for all of us eventually. The living must keep living and supporting each other. The light does not go out of the world, it just shifts around. Try counting the number of friends who have gotten married, or had offspring. ::hugs::

Don't be too hard on the universe. Pa went peacefully with most of his kids by his side. The universe owed him a peaceful trip out and it actually delivered.

Alas, we're getting to the age where more and more parents/frieds/siblings will be dieing, and children/niblings/grandchildren will be birthing. Such be the cycle of life.
