I write this now as a married woman! It was a wonderful gathering with close friends, family, good music, laughter and lots of memories. It was great to see some people I hadn't seen in far too long, as well as meet some of P's friends I'd yet to meet. They all seemed to get along well with each other, too, which is always good. We just got back from a fantastic weekend in Ontario. I had no idea it was such a quick drive to Canada from here. It's even a shorter drive than to the city. It was a spur-of-the-moment trip, so we grabbed our passports and went up there with no concrete plans, which worked ( Read more... )

Like many out here, I'm so over this darn heatwave. Thankfully, we do have a few rooms that are air conditioned, but it does make going outside and being active a lot less fun. I forgot to mention P's birthday! It went off without a hitch. He loves the water and has been wanting me to take him to hear some good jazz (pickings at jazz venues here seem to always be slim whenever he visits... it's odd), so I took him on a jazz cruise aboard a yacht at sunset. It's been a busy week (and day, month, year)! I feel physically exhausted, but at the same time, don't really remember being happier. Everything is falling into place, but it just seems to be all at once, so for the moment I'm overwhelmed. It's far from a complaint, though.

I've started knitting. I've known how pretty much my entire life (as soon as I could hold needles), but never really had more than a passing interest in it.
