Well, that settles it for me! (As if I didn't already know the best choice!!)

But, poor Inara, can you make it better for her?

Glad you're enjoying this little story of mine, angel932!

I'm sure you can tell, from my username, who I want River to choose....

I'll see about making it better for Inara (and the loser of the competition for River).

Tell me about it. Jayne all the way for me too

I've just been watching the first part of Jane Eyre on the BBC this evening. It was WONDERFUL. Mr Rochester was so flirty and sexy one minute, and the next so grumpy and impossible. So Jayne -like! It was wonderful watching them begin to be attracted to each other. And when they first met, with her having to help him to his horse because he was injured falling off. SHe had her arms around him, very close. *sigh*. I think Imught me writing a lot of very romantic fanfic over the next few weeks. I LOVE Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester...

Oh, New Jane Eyre! So, Jealous!

My favorite version thus far had been the Ciran Hinds one. Cannot wait to see the new one.

The actor, Toby Stephens, is a wonderful actor. He was in BBC's "The Tennant of Wildfell Hall" and was just dreamy in that, but I just couldn't imagine him playing Rochester. How wrong could I be! I think I'll be a puddle of goo by the end. The think about romantic stories is that, by the end, all our viewers/ readers have fallen in love with the hero, along with the heroine in the story. He was grumpy and oh so sexy. and the way he was looking at Jane..... *fans herself*

Just saw an ad for "Wide Sargasso Sea" which is the story of Mr Rochester and his first wife, the mad woman in the attic. It is a sensual, very carribean tale, unlike Jane Eyre. I hope they show it just as Jane Eyre is finishing.

I recorded Jane Eyre onto a DVD so maybe I could torrent it....?!!

Well, clearly Jayne is the best choice. But I keep being afraid for what will happen when Mal loses. Poor Mal. Poor Jayne. Poor River. Poor 'Nara. Poor Big Damn Hotties.

“Mal is strong in his heart and mind but he has been hurt many times before. He doesn’t want to overwhelm her; doesn’t let her feel the chills like Jayne. He wants to protect her heart and body, but is afraid. Afraid she will break again. Wants to love her but Mal holds back. Does not know what to do when she breaks; calls Simon who shatters her with his needles. Jayne is not afraid. He picks up the pieces, makes her whole, gives her everything, and does not hold back.”

Love this assessment of how Mal treats River, very spot on. Also, adore the Jayne-Book counsel. *sniffle*. Inara is being very gracious over the whole thing, what a lady! Looks to me River wants a certain hulking mercenary.

Yay! I love this fic. So glad that Shepherd Book's in Jayne's corner on this one (after subtly sussing out his intentions, of course).

And River may not realise that she's come to a decision, but I'm sure Inara and Kayle have.

Poor Mal.
Lucky Jayne.
Lucky Lucky River.

You hit the nail on the head...

River may not know (yet) but Inara and Kaylee sure do!
