I watched the Oscar nominations at work today. I know that it's just an awards show but I still find it kind of exciting. As for books--the public library is your best friend! ;) If you have the time, Cloud Atlas is one of my absolute favorite books. I also recommend Infinite Jest very highly, even though I'm less than 200 pages in right now.

Colin Firth is great in The King's Speech (I've been in love with him since Pride and Prejudice). It's great, but not as amazing as I thought it would be. I'm hoping to see The Kids are Alright and Blue Valentine before the Oscars.

5 to 15 pages at a time sounds about right for Infinite Jest; it's pretty dense. And the sections are short, so there's that. And honestly--I laughed (out loud!) 5 times in the first 25 pages. The Arizona sections especially appeal to me. I wonder if everyone's reading it right now because The Pale King is about to come out? And there was that road trip book last year, too....
