[conventions] Hugos

So yesterday was the Hugos. Not to bury the lede, Brandon Sanderson took my category. No Hugo for me. That leaves me 0-4 on awards this year. It was wonderful all the same.

The old saw about it being an honor to be nominated is very true. I was in excellent company. And some real cool things happened.

The Campbell has a tiara? Is it an elisem tiara? Did they borrow this idea from the Tiptree? (If so, I say good on them.)

Actually, stillsostrange created the tiara at the request of matociquala and me. It's more of a circlet than a tiara, technically. And yes, it's somewhat related to the Tiptree tiara.

The "they" who did this is me and eBear, btw. ;)

Well, go you and E. Bear. I like it when traditions spread. I like it even more when the tradition includes people of various genders in tiaras. (As Pat Murphy said when the Tiptree one got going, baseball caps are gettin' kinda old.)
