[cancer] Talking to my oncologist about mental and emotional health

Saw the oncologist yesterday immediately after my bloodwork. This isn't the usual order of things, as they prefer to see me the same day as the chemo infusion, but that's how the scheduling fell out. It would probably be a good idea to check in with your primary care physician on the depression. I've learned not to trust doctors with questions outside their specialty. Good luck, and you deserve to feel better.

I imagine that it's helpful that you can at least clearly articulate how you're feeling and wade through all of it enough to assess it all and put it in its place.

I'd say that if you have the insight to think you're depressed then you're probably past the depression - not that you haven't got ample reason to be depressed. Its just the first thing depression does is take away your insight - and you're obviously a pretty insightful guy.

Wishing you all the strength you need, and, as you say, fuck cancer.
