Horseback riding lessons would likely be different (less on the trotting, more on the other aspects like training etc)

Also, the doctors will prolly want me to stop the metformin.

I'm not completely controlled on my sugars - fasting is still in the 150 range. Doc in Dec knew (well, in Dec they were running 300ish for fasting), and was still pretty much okay with how it was working out (since I had a plan to get fixed on that and had good reasons etc and really, it's not very likely to happen within the first 3-6 months so the sugars will most likely be okay if it happens - but if it happens earlier than we need to know).

let it go. I too had (have) exceptionally irregular cycles so there was no way of knowing if I was "late". I too was on drugs which were going to have to be monitored closely once pregnant. I looked up the most basic info on Metformin and while your doc may make changes once you are pregnant, it seems there is little risk to the baby in the first trimester. (www.otispregnancy.org/files/metformin.pdf) The bigger risk is in blood sugar control (this also is similar to my situation with the epilepsy drugs, though mine were of significantly higher risk to the baby, the risks to the baby would be higher had my seizure condition not been controlled, than what the risks of the drugs were.) Our doc was insistent on high levels of folic acid to protect the baby, this being taken the entire time I was of conceiving age (meaning long before we even tried). So if it would help you be more at ease, you could ask to have a prescription for folic acid separate from your daily multi, the studies I was presented with showed no risks when more than ( ... )
