So, the reason for the long silence... (it's not going to be a surprise)... it was a girl.

I don't like to think of Anne as just "a girl". We are still good friends.

But the fact that I have kept silent for so long is a good indicator of how much it took out of me.

I guess I should start at the beginning

I never understood the big rush. Like that's why the roommate thing bothers me. If the person you like goes MIA for a month, suddenly they move on. I never got that!

I think it would be more accurate to say that she had already moved on and just didn't have the guts to tell me for a month. It was easier to let me continue to think that she was trying to make a decision than to let me know the decision had been made.

And the roommate thing came AFTER that... not very long after, but after nonetheless.

Still...I mean, it's way nicer to tell someone what's up rather than 'avoid hurting' them.

But I'm sure you know this...
