Haggis

In celebration of Burns Night in the UK (and quite possibly elsewhere) this is a drabble originally written for tolkien_weekly

When Bilbo first came to stay at Imladris, he brought his mother's recipe book - and treated the elves there to a few special heirloom dishes. The original prompt was for Nausea/Vomitting

Oddly enough I was thinking about elves and haggis at dinner tonight, as we were eating that very thing.

It finally occurred to me that, with a respect for the animal they have slain, the elves would doubtless be like other hunter cultures and eat every part of the animal as it would be disrespectful of them to throw liver, heart etc. away - they probably have their own specialities not unlike haggis...

I actually did try haggis when I was in Scotland a few year ago. along with tatties and neeps. It was not awful, but also not something I would eat again. Well, you can't get authentic haggis here, excepting places that make it without lungs, so it's a moot point.
