If (when...) I come over, I will help you make a pretty dress to wear ^^ Your measurements are probably even fairly close to mine, so it wouldn't be that hard. That way we can wear Lolita together!
Rules...well there are "rules" but not any definite ones. More like "if you do this, other's will snigger at you". A lot of people just put lace on anything and think it's lolita. Usually short skirts and/or showing a lot of flesh is a big "NO" rule.
I'm still learning ^^; It's all about presentation and attitude as well. It's not good enough to go dressed but then act like a teeny-bopper or be swearing a lot. (I still couldn't give up a bottle of Coke in favor of an iced tea though :P )
Next time you could come along to an informal meet. Or even formal ones. Not everyone dresses up ^^ We're all a nice bunch! Honest!
I made my outfit (except for the shirt and the socks and like, obviously, the shoes. XD) If you look close it's actually pretty dodgy. Well...maybe not. It's alright. I tried really hard - it was only the first real thing I have sewn (pajama pants don't really count).
Skye's outfit is from a brand called Innocent World. But she made Tahlia's Hello Kitty skirt. Umm...the two black and white outfits were bought in Malaysia, and the purple/white outfit was also Innocent World and/or Baby, The Stars Shine Bright.
So some was handmade, others were bought. I can't afford brand stuff though ($300 for a blouse! *shock horror*) I'm sure whatever I make next will be better.
