At some point during the week, Jarod had sent out a handwavey note to the members of his workshop, telling them to dress appropriately for outdoor weather, including a swimsuit. Jack had never seen a kayak before, but they looked interesting. He grabbed a paddle and practiced his stroke according to Jarod's instructions.

It seemed pretty easy, so he decided to try it live. The life vests weren't very appealing, but he put one on before placing a kayak in the water.

"Okay, now what?" Considering it, he balanced the paddle across the front of the whatever-you-called the place where you sat, and stepped in. After a moment's wobbliness, he sat down and pushed off.

Okay. This? Was fun.

"For a kayak? I guess..." Jack grinned. "It's not really big enough for two people, so that's cuts out a lot of those possibilities."

Jack grinned at the blush. "We wouldn't want to waste school resources. And think of how much more we could accomplish if we were all sharing. We could really benefit from each other's experience."

Jack nodded thoughtfully. "Now that is a worthy and admirable goal. I guess the key is thinking of things you want to achieve."

It's possible she's blushing again, but freckles and previous blushes are rather in the way.
