I suppose you can take heart in the knowledge that they won't be more watered down than they already are...

Good luck with that?

I really am confuzzled. But, I'm not envious. Who the fuck thought you guys would be even more stringent than the fucking bible belt? I'll drink some in mourning for your liquor laws.

Smirnoff and wine coolers... really? Seriously? LOLz.

Yeah, in some ways we aren't but in other ways we are. It's weird.

There's an easy way to explain it.
The majority of people in the group that controls state liquor laws in Utah are non-drinkers. Birds telling fish how to swim.

I abhor alcohol and even I don't understand this stuff. If a majority of people like myself were to legislate alcohol I can understand wanting to protect my own family and other families like mine from alcohol but why essentially legalize a monopoly even further and include some of these other unusual restrictions.

Because they can and it theoretically keeps the alcohol away from the kids. Whole out of sight out of mind thing. Complete bull, but thats the justification.

Kids get hooked by getting/stealing this stuff from their parents not the stores. Changing where you buy it doesn't change a thing, other than make people who like flavored malt beverages very annoyed.
This is probably the most stupid law to come out of Utah in a long time.

So much for getting my Bacardi party packs on sale at Smith's, start saving and prepare to pay overpriced rates at the liquor store.

This really pisses me off......

Before you know it tobacco will be banned from sale and only available in state tobacco stores. Just wait and see....

Well, since we don't drink and don't cook with alcohol either, our kids won't be getting it that way. Similar story with tobacco. While I will "educate" our children against alcohol and tobacco, in the end the choice will be their own. If our kids do make such a choice, then I will have to tell my wife that she is a good mother and must let her children make their own choices even if it goes against what she taught them ( ... )
