FIC! Where's the **** fic?

Aug 05, 2007 20:04

My fic muses seem to have deserted me of late. Or more correctly, I've deserted them: too many priorities to juggle. I can't blame the kids, either: Sofia is starting to sleep really well, and Annika has the odd nap every third day or so. And I'm not so tired now, so I COULD write at night.

Problem is, I'm writing other stuff.

I've long had not one ( Read more... )

fic, writing, personal

I'll be sorry not to see the Multiplex, but, GO YOU! DO IT! I'll be rooting for you!

A novel sounds like so much work...totally worth it and fun too, but oh so much work.

And how about asking someone to beta for your little 1000 words project? That would help you out a bit, wouldn't it?

I ended up using a section of the novel I had already written (the romantic thriller.) It is hard work, but I figure its worth doing ...

You go kick some novel-writing-ass!

One word of advice; sci fi has to be culturally relivent (according to one of my how to guides), so the window for them can be limited. I don't know how that specifically relates to you, but that's my two cents. And it's not even mine, it's from someone else. ]

Obvisouly, I'm sorry to see Multiplex on the back burner, but a writing a novel is huge! (I can never really seem to get out of the planning stage myself).

Re the sci-fi, I don't see any point in writing something that wouldn't been "culturally relevant" - besides, we're not talking space opera here. Its more a meditation on the nature of human civilisation and how the human spirit adapts to change. Its something that's always fascinated me, and is one of the reasons I was drawn to the Xmen in the first place.

Re Multiplex, I won't be abandoning it, too many vicious bunnies for that, but I just need to get some serious progress on the novel as above.
