I went on maternity leave April 2nd.
Nearing the end of my time at work, I was overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown by so many wonderful people. I find it hard to accept gifts for free and I really do hope I've made it worth it to these people and their kindness feels reciprocated.

What flowers signal spring where you are?

In spring Japan is most well known for cherry blossoms. But there are so many other flowering trees that I love. Cherry is the most dramatic. I get on the train in the afternoon. Usually, it's quite empty and I get two seats to myself. I need two seats because it's getting hard to rest my bag on my lap. My lap is smaller these days, yes, with this big tummy in the way. My bag is heavy with my computer, phones, cords, tea bottle, and paperwork for my job. I call my bag My Office. For those who were worried about me, I am feeling a lot better. Thanks so much to everyone who sent me books, cereal, drove me to the clinic, and gave me calls. I was in bed for the worst 2 months of my entire life but now I'm good and I'm going back to work next week!
