The embossing technique is a great idea! I also like the grid idea.

Those fine lines are so impressive; such painstaking work...how long have you been working on it now?

The teachers are professionals, so they have a lot of tricks up their sleeves! The grid can be used for both proportional enlargement as well as distorted enlargements. Alphonse Mucha (the famous art nouveau artist) not only used a grid, he used diagonals as well! The grid really is helpful, a lifesaver ( ... )

Wow, a year long drawing? I take my hat off to you, madam; you have much more focus than I!

Very fine work, I felt, on the mane - you really got the almost coarse quality of it into your linework, bravo! Gotta say, love the feeling; just a little wild, a little ragged around that widened eye, I can definitely see why you picked such a piece. And the contrast is very sharp, contrast is always a wonderful thing.
