This post is mostly just filler til I can get around to finishing up my long-ass juku post (probably in two parts).   My work is unbelievably busy, with the school suddenly trying to cram in English classes at the last minute to try to make the yearly goal, so I'm teaching about 25 hours a week.  Not to mention that I'm being transferred to a ( Read more... )

I love finding videos that appeal to me artistically, and most of these certainly do!

I've seen sand art done before and have always loved the idea of it being like moving picture, but it's rare to see a coherent story! I'm glad she won, if I read right.

That meadow...I've only just realised that what makes it so strange is because of the fact, to me, the simple addition of the water changes your perception. I mean, the atmosphere changes. Where normally you would have to walk up steep inclines or across bridges, now you can just pass straight over them. I guess the equivalent is flying. And I'm pretty sure that most people would love the ability to fly!

I've seen that advert so many times but it still makes me crack up XD Sure it's kinda...one sides, but it's to sell a product and it makes a point...somewhere. It's just funny.

Lastly, I love these kind of ‘concept’ videos, ones which mean something. I visit a few websites of similar film works (Much like The Lights on DA) and just adore how someone can think up something ( ... )

That is such a cool video, thank you for sharing! I loved the cautious little yellow light. :D As for the Ukrainian woman, I had never heard of sand painting in that context at all, I just stumbled across the video and was floored by it. It was the Ukrainian version of "Got Talent" (is that originally a British show?) and she did indeed win the grand prize.

The water video is both beautiful and slightly unsettling to me, for the reasons you stated. So clear, and yet the benches and paths are underwater. And the fish swimming under the tree along the path..! I looked up a few of the German "Sees", and there were some really creepy diving pictures. I couldn't look at them long they were so weird! Somehow things underwater both fascinate me but freak me out a bit, I have no idea why ( ... )

I've always loved this video; the choice of music is very fitting too. I'm glad you liked it!

Yeah, Britain's Got Talent. Then I think there's an American version, and obviously other countries have done so as well.

I know what you mean! It's just the unnatural of seeing all the objects in place as they normally are, but not much around it is affected by gravity other than...well, the viewer. (Or the diver in this case)

It's weird though. The voice-over for the advert has been changed. I guess they show it in the US as well as the UK then, seeing as the accent's changed.

I certainly did! Thanks to you I've discovered a new band I like. (The one from the Doll's Face video)
