Awwwwwwwww. Boone's struggle is not pleasant, certainly not a situation I would want to be in, but it is just like him to want to please someone else, to do something for them not matter how much he doesn't want to, but that last scene was just sweet.

Poor guy indeed! One thinks that it'd have been better if he had lived even with Jack amputating the leg but writing this made me re-think about it.. of course I'd have wanted him in even without it but on his side of the things it'd have been pretty painful. I swear one day I'll write him some fluffy thing. I feel bad!

Glad the last scene worked, I wasn't so sure it wasn't completely off with the mood of the rest of it so it was great to hear it! Thank you so much ♥!

I think this is one of your best stories. I wish I had time to go over every detail that I liked and give examples but I have to summarize by saying how well you captured Boone's physical and mental pain. I winced a lot as I read this. Everyone's reactions were very in character, from Sayid's usual quietness to Sawyer's unusual quietness. The scene with Walt was amazing, a great climax to Boone's angst. It was lovely how Jack, who was the cause of all this, was the one to pull up his spirits every time and encourage him. And then end - when he tells Boone to sleep on it. That was soooo Jack. Great fic. I loved it.

Well, now I'm kind of blushing. Thank you so much, it means a lot to hear this, since while I had a clear idea of how it was supposed to go I wasn't so sure that the Jack part at the end wasn't going to feel a bit off, though I wouldn't have changed it even if it was. I mean, torture is torture, but I've got my limits. I kind of winced at writing it myself (erm, let's not talk about the researching..) but I was kind of aiming for it. I'm really so glad that both Boone, Jack and the reactions felt IC and of course that you liked the way I handled Jack in the end. Thank you so much again, I'm so really happy you liked it that much! Especially in this case it really means a lot ♥.

I guess you finally found something more disturbing to research than haggis!

Haggis was like going to see Some Like it Hot in comparison! Now I even know how many kinds of amputation exist and the procedure. I may need to go back on the haggis soon ;)

*squees at reading*

Well, thank you so much indeed! It hurt like a bitch to do this to my poor man but you know, sacrifices to the realistic side? ;) and Jack/Boone was my OTP once. One wonders why I refuse to claim other OTPs now... I couldn't avoid the slashy temptation!

Thank you so much, I'm really so glad you liked it! ♥ ♥

Oh don't worry I know aaaaaall about torturing characters *cough* Charlie *cough* but anyway...!

I might be a hetter by OTP but I do have a sneaky soft spot for slash and I truly did enjoy this. Thanks once again for sharing it in all it's angsty-slashy goodness!

Awww...I was happy when I saw you were doing a Boone!lives fic but little did I know it would lead to more intense suffering for the poor boy. It would be awful to be in that frail crippled state on the island. I loved Sayid's mature compassion and the well meaning but awkward sympathy of Sawyer, Hurley, Charlie, etc. Everyones reactions were very believeable, including Locke running away from the mess of it all, even though he is the one person who could have offered Boone genuine understanding due to his past condition. The moment with Walt letting him win the game was heartbreaking. I could understand him being crushed by that. I loved the scene with Jack. I think it's very true that Jack needs to save people more because he can't let go or cope with the guilt ( ... )

Could you link me that story? I think I may have read but I'd want to refresh my mind ;) I'm sure I read something where Charlie had pneumonia and he kind of told Desmond he'd have rather died a hero than like that or where there was some kind of reasoning along those lines, was that yours? Anyway, that's an interesting comparison. There really is some mirroring to the Des/Charlie dynamic.. which means I'm advantaged the day I get my lazy self trying with them. Now I want to concentrate on the card game though ( ... )

I think my fic is the one you've read before but here is the link since you asked - http://falafel-fiction.livejournal.com/4766.html I remember I had a similar romantic ending with Des holding Charlies hand and encouraging him not to give up. I've always resisted slashing Des/Charlie because I'm too much of a Penny fan, but this fic had some hardcore bromance ( ... )

Thank you so much! I said it was a shitload of angst ;) and for how much he might have not wanted it, I'd have preferred if it went like this... though now that' d have been a problem for poor Ian ;)

And thank you so much really, it means so much to know I get Boone right. I don't write him half as much as I should, though I torture him far too much. Definitely glad to know Jack worked, I had more than a doubt with that section so.. ;) thank you so much again!
