We always know when one of my dogs is the culprit because she actually gets up and leaves the room. My vet said I could give her beano.

How long have you had her? The horrible gas might be from the stress of changing homes or a change in food. It can take up to two weeks for things to even out.

I feed Peanut a vet diet (Hills Prescription Diet) that my friend also uses. Neither of our dogs have gas or smelly poops. It's a little more expensive, but since the Peanut is small, it's not that big a deal. Perhaps it's an option for you and yours?

However, the other dog in our house (my roommate's Chow/Lab mix) can clear rooms with his farts (urgh).

We've had her for a week today.

I've started, based on something I read online, feeding her four times a day instead of twice (same amount of food overall). This has helped somewhat. Mare is a small dog too, so I'm going to see if I can find that Hills Prescription Diet at my vet's office.

If I were you, I would insist that my boyfriend respect my feelings. If his level of intimacy with this woman makes you uncomfortable, then he should respect that. I would feel very uncomfortable with them talking on the phone and her hanging out at his house when I was not there. I would be disturbed by what is, at best, his deliberate omission of the truth.

If your brain is telling you that there is more going on here than he says there is, I think you should think about the situation very clearly before you two move in together. Good luck.
