Don't let them come out. Just bring the DVR to a Comcast store and tell them it doesn't work. You'll get a new one. Of course you'll loose anything on your HD...
If you leave now I bet you could get a new one tonight even.
The luxury of renting I guess.
Want us to tape anything this weekend?

Well, yes, I realize I could just go exchange it. I then lose the season worth of English Premier League I had recorded.
The real point was: hey, there is an error code, what does it mean?
As for going tonight to exchange it, that would require I have a car...grrr....

Just one of the many problems with monopolies. They can have shitty service and get away with it because there is nowhere else to get cable service.
I have a deep dislike of Comcast, but I remain a customer because the other expanded tv options around here leave me cold.
