Now my personal issue with live journal is that i'm not really inclined to put down my most sordid or personal secrets. I started off being more frank but now, well, it's just the occasional whinge and the occasional genious peice of philosophy! I'm rather afraid that people will read it you see. It's what one gets from being a very private

Of course people don't put their most sordid and personal secrets in here, and if they put anything approaching it, they make it friends only - as long as they've screened their friends list.
I find it's just a nice way to keep up to date with what friends - particularly long distance ones - are up to. The sort of "how are you? what you been up to?" convos that you'd have if you saw them in real life.
Plus the occasional outlet for pathetic rant or boring quiz, and the like - it can be quite amusing watching random net strangers who have nothing better to do, search out your lj and tell you nobody cares and you shouldn't bother posting.
Oh, and it can be good for photos too.
This is LJ - it only gets a little serious/interesting occasionally.

if i were to put my sordid stuff in (not that it's all that sordid i should add, but kinda private) ironically, i'd be a lot happier if i could make it strangers only...

but there we go. thanks, i shall continue my whinges and home-baked, half-spun philosphy with impunity now...

SORDID AND PERSONAL SECRET: I cheated on an ex when we had only been going out for a few weeks and, upon finding my cheatee fully shaved I came in my trousers rendering myself unable to continue.
