lol... yes, the boring stretches of flat water are... well... boring stretches of flat water. Ever get one wide/deep enough that you really, for a time, weren't sure whether or not you were moving? Dreariness incarnate.

Ah, the perils of team sports. (I often end up as main paddler too. Kayaks are better for this, as you either get your own, or there are at least fewer people per boat.)

About the team sports aspect - yes, precisely! This is the same reason I have hated all group work ever in the academic realm. Unless I trust my team members to not suck, which has been a rare occurrence.

::pout:: Never been rafting, so I'm incredibly jealous! Still, even for the aches and pains, you had a good time, yes?

::giggle:: Perhaps next time you go rafting would be an excellent time to try some kind of prototype rafting pants...the kind with cushions for your tushie? Maybe those old 80s style shoulder pads removed from an old suit and stiched inside a pair of pants for each cheek? ^^;;
