Interesting. My A-levels are pretty much completely useless to me in terms of getting a job and I'd have been better off leaving school at 16, or on the other hand I might have been better off just going to university. (Or both, as I personally believe now.) Timing can be very important.

Have you come across the game show Deal or No Deal yet? Fascinating game, and I mention it because there have been players who have lost tens of thousands of pounds though unfortunate timing, be it too early or too late. (I wrote about it in my LJ actually.)

I don't know what they told you about Hill's Road in Chesterton, but it lived up to every expectation I had. It's not a magical place full of singing birds, rainbows and knowledge implants, it just happens to be a college with consistently good results.

yes, but that probably reflects the type of people that go there rather than the quality and support given by it.
