Lessee. The first weekend of September (the 2nd & 3rd) was great. Friday the 1st I went to a birthday/new job/farewell/welcome-home party. There were like five guests of honor, with two birthdays, one person back from the military, one person starting a new career, and one leaving an old job. Then Saturday I got fitted in the dress for sandrayln's wedding. ( Read more... )

I still have a huge bolt of black cotton velveteen in the storage closet of my old house. I've test washed it in hot and it comes out beautifully. How much do you need? You're welcome to some yardage if you like. I'm pretty sure it's 60" wide.

Mmm. Velvet. Washable velvet, even better! My problem arises in that I need around 10-ish yards. Maybe even as many as 20 if I want to do two outfits (an Elizabethan, and an 1880s riding habit). Do you know where I can get some relatively cheap? Matt's b-day gift to me will be this velveteen, and the cheaper it costs, the more I can get!

How is your new job going? and your home? No updates from you recently!

Whee! My own personal update from teh Elizagoth. ^_~

Interesting about Dharma Trading Co - I found them just the other day while searching for a company that would sell me a good number of fabric swatches. They have an awesome deal for that. I didn't know they sold their stuff undyed, though. I guess I ought to read their other info, heh.

If you find that other place, let me know. I'd like to have quite a bit of velveteen on hand, as it's a really useful fabric in costuming, heh.
