Indian Wells

Oh, how I wish I'd gotten my act together in time to go to BNP Paribas at Indian Wells, California. It was my first pick of tournaments to go to that aren't Wimbledon, since Wimbledon has been first pick since I was a little kid. Anyway, I've been following it through tv, articles on the net, rogerfederfans.com, Twitter (yes, A, we have much to ( Read more... )

Thanks for posting those pics - I've seen them before but you can never get enough Roger/Rafa bromance (or at least I can't LOL). You can see real pleasure in Rafa's eyes when he greets Roger; Roger is a little more reserved (being Swiss) but he looks fondly at Rafa. I totally agree that those who say they aren't friends have badly misread things.

I was shocked that David went out in the first round - Verdasco too although he was just back after injury. I just pray that Berdsh*t will get knocked out before he meets Roger but that might be too much to hope for.

Are you on Twitter? I've recently joined (well I joined a while back but was inactive) and am just getting going with it. My Twitter address is Jane Ray@Yorvik187. I'll PM you my email address too.

Re Wimbledon - I'm hoping my brother in law will get spare tickets so that I can go this year (he's a member of a local tennis club) but daren't build up on it.

Got to keep the bromance alive! I wanted them somewhere I could find them easily. You are so right. Rafa obviously enjoying being in Roger's company. He's been so smiley! Roger is rather laidback, isn't he? I'd love to see him get fired up, off court.

Sent you an email. :)

I hopehopehope your brother-in-law can get you Wimbledon tickets!! *paws crossed* I'll do all of the hoping for you. You just carry on. ;-)

Oooooo, I hadn't seen these pictures! So cute! Those two make me so happy. :-D

I read in one of your other posts about Roger's back problems. Do we know whether he can recover from this or is it just time catching up with him? :-\

Yay! So glad to provide the pics for you. :) They make me very happy, too.

He's not talking about the back problem, so no idea what's going on. I do know when he hurt it. During the second set against Dodig. At 4-1 40-15 Roger served and you can hear him grunt. After that he barely moved his feet. When he served again, he lifted one heel but otherwise didn't launch off from his legs the way he normally does. The commentators I was listening to said, "He had a rusty game." Later Roger admitted to tweaking his back. Probably pulled something. I hope that's all it is -- I'm fairly certain that's fixable, but he does have that chronic problem.

Frustrated just like everyone else, because now he's off for nearly two months and won't tell us anything. Gah Doesn't he know his fans worry?

Pics were posted of him on Twitter. As of last night (Sunday) he was still at IW looking...scruffy with stubble! It's been so long since we've seen Scruffyerer. *g*
