Several people asked me what exactly caused George's trauma. I just talked to the vet and she said it was definitely a brain injury, probably a concussion. She was so very close to being comatose when I took her in. The rigidity was a result of her brain swelling. The drop in her body temperature was secondary because she laid there for a while ( Read more... )

Oh, wow - George is such a fighter!
I'm so, so happy that she's back home & doing so well. ♥

She really is a fighter. I'm amazed that she came back so well in such a short time. She's so resilient, but then I knew that because of how she has been about her leg. :D

George is awesome! I don't know much about kitties, but I know that, with my son, if he was eating and drinking, he was ok. It takes a lot of time to recover from a concussion (look at all those hockey players that have been off the ice for months due to a head injury.) Maybe she's moving slowly because she's tired and because she's just being careful where she puts her paws for a little while.

Awesome, indeed! Cats are like kids. As long as they're eating and drinking they're off to a very good start. It is amazing that she seems to be normal after what she went through. She's not moving so slowly today. She's been zipping around here, killing and eating a bug and snooping in my canvas grocery bag. *g*
