LJ, FB, Twitter, etc....Cross-posting Functionality.

I'm going to be blunt:

Do not cross-post any portion of my LJ entries, comments, or whatnought to Twitter, FB, or any other social media. I do not care whether or not the actual friends lock filters work when cross- posting. If I want to post something to Facebook, Twitter, or whatnought, then I will do so, myself. It will be MY choice to do that ( Read more... )

They seem to have adjusted thing for better privacy - protected posts remain protected, etc. So, it should be ok.

Not that I would be happy if anyone cross-posted my lj stuff.

Eh. I know that privacy is an illusion on the net, but I don't trust anyone to say "it works" in regards to filters.

Don't know if it's the same cross-posting you're talking about, but i tested the "sharing" function to post one of my *own*
LJ music vid posts to FB.

Not crazy bout it tho (it didn't show a thumnail)

and i have absolutely no intentions of doing anything
with anyone else's LJ posts (which would be a total invasion of privacy)
or even commenting on anyone's LJ using my FB name.

Yes, but does it stop *other* people from cross-posting my LJ entries? From what I understand, this script keeps *me* from seeing said functionality.

Are you using it?
If so, I just checked your LJ entries. I can still see the FB & Twitter links.

Since UI being served from their back-end servers, the add-on should only make a difference in what you see...not what others see, because your browser can't affect the code on the server.
