Car + Icy Road + Tree = Bad News

Dec 13, 2009 19:25

This morning the husband and I got up early to head to his sister's place to celebrate Christmas early. He was out earlier with the dog and noted that it was icy. We left plenty early, knowing that we would have to drive carefully ( Read more... )

*hugs* Thanks. :)

I have to admit that I'm really glad that it happened where it did. We were really close to home- we could walk back even, not on a highway halfway between our place and his sister's. That and we didn't hit another car and hurt someone else. If the accident 'had' to happen I'm glad that it went down the way it did.

Have definitely considered AWD or 4WD, and am looking at them. Luckily they now make them in car form- as I'm not real fond of trucks.

Thanks. :)

My hubby is rather fond of Jeeps, though he's angling to get an older Wrangler. Not sure if that's going to happen or not.

Suburus are good cars, my sister has had two, her and hubby had one, and my older brother had a WRX. So I'm looking at those. Now if only I could get one that got really great gas mileage too! (want the world, don't I? ;) )

Glad no people were hurt.

A few of my friends have been commenting that there seems to be a sudden MASSIVE increase in weird things like this happening. Last night, I tried to go to sleep and ended up in the ER with a massive spasm in my back & neck muscles - no cause.

Another friend had a car die on them because a mechanic left the plug out of the oil pan after an oil change.

Another went with friends/family to Disney World to celebrate a child-relative's birthday, only to have the major events (coincided with some sort of holiday event at WDW) rained out - and not even partial refunds, because the park "left the rides running".

Two of my step-relatives (an aunt and an uncle, both my step-mom's siblings) were hospitalized in the last week with heart problems.

So, it seems that something very bizarre is up, and it's everywhere.

Yeah, there's definite weirdness going around...

I hope you're feeling better.

Same as everyone else, it sucks on why you have to go car shopping but I am thankful you and hubby are both alright!

Thanks. What's kind of funny about the whole thing is that my husband loves to shop around for cars on the internet, so we kind of already had an idea of what was out there, and where to look.
