Heh, the 'part time shag' thing was just Owen being his usual charming self. The reunion looked pretty open and official to me, given how secretive they've been about it so far.
Lets hope he doesn't get on with this version of the Doctor and comes back soon for another series :)
Well, we knew that Jack was gonna turn up in Doctor Who, and know we know why! (But JB has said he won't be kissing DT. Which is a disappointment for my Pretty Sensors. :()
I'm copying exactly what I put at torch_wood and in my own LJ:
THAT KISS WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH DAMNIT!
But the context was beautiful. Kissing Ianto because he was back, not because he was leaving, as we all thought.
Still, even when I think "CHRISTY THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!", that pesky David Tennant with his extra hand comes and steals him away. As long as he goes back to Ianto in series 2.
Also, Ianto crying into Jack's coat was just plain AWWWWWWWWW!
In other, non Jack/Ianto related news:
-Bilis was SCARY! -RHYS LIVES! -I actually felt bad for Owen. -Ianto and Owen fighting was genius. -Why the hell was the kiss between Jack and other Jack longer, more cinematic and (supposed to be) more moving than the one between Jack and Ianto? I want Jack and Ianto damnit! -Gwen is redeemed! -Tosh, bloody ace.
Bilis was scary! I forgot to mention that in my hurry to get to the Janto! :D
I think the Jack/Jack kiss was for both of them, a moment to dwell on, in a more dramatic setting, and for a goodbye.
The Jack/Ianto kiss was part of an established relationship, a comforting 'welcome home' style thing. And, for the scene, we had to get to the Jack and Owen reunion - which, I hate to admit, was the most important reunion for the scene. *sigh*
The Media and Film Studies student in me agrees with these points.
The Janto fangirl in me is screaming "MORE KISSING DAMNIT!"
I guess it'll have to be fanfic ahoy until October. We've just come up with the best idea of if the Doctor took Jack AND Ianto. The TARDIS would be so CLEAN!
That was my point. We all thought it was proof that Owen *knew* they were shagging, but in context, he seems to be just throwing it out there to get a reaction.
I really loved that bit as well, when Ianto's just holding him up. But not really, cos he probably doesn't need holding up anymore, but he's holding him anyway. *sigh*
I have just posted something along these lines (although possibly with less sense and more squee)
Someone go read it and agree with what I say because no one else I know watches it so I need the goodness of other who understand my tearfully and squiggly ramblings.
That was amazing, with all the Janto and the Jack/Jack kissing. And Tosh getting worried about being japnese in 1941. And the coat sniffing. And Ianto shooting owen just after i shouted at the telly "shoot him already". And the Janto kiss. And the owen hug, owen amitting he'd been a prat. And Rhys not being dead. And the evil clockman. And they so should of listened to Ianto's readings. And the Doctor! I'll forgive the gwen kissing thing.
It's possible that there are no living bats left in the country!
The evil clickman was scary, it was basically the way he talked that freaked me out!!!
I was waiting for the jack/ianto kiss to be a flashback and I actually thought it wouldn't happen but I almost screamed when Jack walked out at the end wearing those clothes!! I was like 'AHHH I KNOW WHATS COMING!'
I thought it was going to be a flashback too. I even had a brief minute of 'Oh my life, what if he's really dead? How can you have Torchwood without Jack?'.
I thought the same. The moment where they were all around the body in the morgue I was like oh crap, it's gonna be a flashback, isn't it? But then it wasn't and I squeed (much to the annoyance of my family). :D
