I love this piece of art. I first saw it over on Wil Wheaton's bloggity-blog, and I immediately saved it for posting later. Alas, tonight I am cleaning up my desktop, so here we are. We both I completely missed Mal! (Who was, admittedly, very teeny in the background.)

I might lament the absence of certain faves that I would think obvious, but that would be silly. And I'm giggling like mad that there are actually members of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the collection. (I survived adolescence because of the SCA and the LSH.)

I love the fact that there are actually half a dozen unidentified figures in the background. The possibilities are endless!

I squealed when I saw Mal! But yes, he is teeny.

And I'd like some absentees in there, too, but as you say, that's silly. No way the artist can fit in everyone! (Of course, in looking at it again, I'm suddenly twitchy about Luke in Star Wars clothing with a green lightsaber, so I completely understand having a few complaints. *grin*)

And maybe the unidentified ones are everyday heroes! ;)
