 Left the Bay Area to a beautiful sunrise yesterday morning. The row of palm trees that used to line the driveway to "Borax" Smith's mansion were silhouetted against a streak of pink, changing to a glowing orange as the sun came up just as we got onto the highway and headed north. We crossed the Siskiyou summit about 1:30 pm, snow above 3000 ft,
