Nearing at least 1000 stitches into my Olympic project... and I have to rip it all and start again.  I should have done some more prep; the word on Ravelry forums is this pattern tends to run large, even with perfect, accurate gauge.

I should have ripped two days ago, but knitterly denial is a powerful thing. Last night it hit me, though: this sock ( Read more... )

Oh no! I'm in a bit of denial, too. I can barely shove my heel into a Skew, but once it is in, it is very comfortable! I started with the second one today instead of doing the leg on the first, in case loosening up my knitting makes any difference. I may or may not have to rip out half of the first one if it really does...

Sounds like they knit up fast... if you do need to frog, it might not be as debilitating as it seems.
That pattern looks pretty cool... is it fun?

I normally HATE plain stockinette, but the pattern is written up in about 7 sections, and you're constantly wondering what on earth you are creating. And then all of a sudden it looks vaguely socklike, so that makes it interesting enough for me to not hate it. But I really like the swirly heel, and I'm still squealing that it was made with the Power of Maths.

I wouldn't normally mind frogging, if I wasn't pressed for time for the ravelympics. I think I'm on the mid ankle section of the second sock, and I got the length of the foot in 40 rows (plus toe) instead of the 50 from the previous. And it's a good cm wider. And this is also the only of about six projects I signed up for that I have had time to work on >.

If it makes you feel better, I kept reading the sentence as your "sister's leg resembles Nicky-cat". I read the entire post several times from that angle, feeling reeeeally confused and idly wondering what malady your sister was suffering from.

Meanwhile, back on the ranch, I can prove how hard your knitting normally rocks, because currently I happen to be wearing a great example on my tootsie-toes ♥

I mis-read things like that at least twice a week. =P

I'm so happy you like your socks! *glee*
