Setbacks

Nearing at least 1000 stitches into my Olympic project... and I have to rip it all and start again.  I should have done some more prep; the word on Ravelry forums is this pattern tends to run large, even with perfect, accurate gauge.

I should have ripped two days ago, but knitterly denial is a powerful thing. Last night it hit me, though: this sock is beginning to resemble my sister's leg in the same way Nicky-cat resembles a 14-year-old Chinese gymnast. I.e. NOT AT ALL.  It really is time to rip (or frog, if you prefer that term.)

It could be worse: I could be knitting like the Russian figure-skaters are skating. (Was that too mean?)

At least my latest story is looking like it might be worth submitting someplace. I really am rather pleased with it.

Onward.
