"He was, I was just water and blanket girl," Isabel explained, still frustrated that she couldn't have done more. "I'm tired. Still. I feel like I could sleep for a week."
"So do that. It's Thanksgiving week anyway, and it's not like the teachers won't understand." Parker shook her head. "And if you're still tired, you were doing a lot. I'm just glad you didn't get sick too."
Isabel didn't like to think about how close it had been. "Ronan would have been next, I think. After that, I don't know. There were a lot of really sick people. Peter, Xander, Bridge...I realized Wyatt was coming down with it right about the time they started coming out with the cure."
"God." Parker closed her eyes, feeling sick. "I'm almost glad I *didn't* know what was going on at the time. I was going nuts. Finally getting your voicemail like I did was the only thing that kept me from storming the castle, figuratively speaking."
"Storming the castle would have been impossible from what I understand," she nodded. "Which I suppose is a good thing. This spreading would have been bad. I'm sorry I didn't call earlier. I was just too brain fried. We got back here last night and just collapsed."
"I'm okay," Isabel promised. "I just need to check up on people and sleep some more. And spend some quality time snuggling with a Wyatt shaped person."
"Then I'll leave you to it," Parker said, rubbing her head. "Although, expect some anxious e-mails this week, if I get worried you disappeared again. I don't need Xander-type trauma again, you know?"
"Oh no, I get it. I'd be doing the same," she said, stifling a yawn. "Don't panic if you can't find me on Thursday though. I'm going out to Neptune to Piper and Veronica's for Thanksgiving."
"Well, if my dad cancels out again, you might see me there too. Chris invited me along. Nice of him, hunh?" Parker rolled her eyes. "Assuming I don't have to finish my ten-page Chinese essay that night. Damnit."
