St. Louis Conference

The conference was MASSIVE.  A program of 300+ pages.  The Fandom Theory & Culture Area only had 3 panels, though a few others touched on fandom studies here and there (there'd be no way to escape it in such a big setting).  Our panel had 18 - 20 in attendance, which I thought

*smishes and loves and squeezes you* I can't see why they wouldn't grant you an extension, sweeting, especially since (though you can't say it in so many terms) your advisor is a dickwad. I'm sure if you phrase that more nicely and quasi-objectively, they have to realize that changing that shit around at this point is a HUGE FUCKING UPHEAVAL that was utterly beyond your control.

It'll be ok, sweeting, really. I know it will. And you won't have to kill yourself to finish, either, which would be good. *nod* No killing the wifey. And lol, then we'll be on almost the same timeline for completing our major writing projects, so we can bitch at each other all summer. YAY!! (Yes, that is cause to celebrate. Take the silver lining when you can find it, yanno?)

And the conference stuff dies sound interesting. I did some stuff on Slash in my degree and it was knd of what brought me into it. I've neglected the academic side since. It's more fun writing it ;oP

You mentioned transfering your
videos onto to DVD discs.
I take it these are the videos on your computer?
I have tons of Ewan videos, and would love to do the same, but I have no idea of how to do that.
Any suggestions?
I don't have a DVD player on my computer. I can burn CDs but not DVDs.
Do I need something to connect to my computer?

The conference sounds spectacular and yes, 18-20 people in that rarefied atmosphere would be most gratifying. Does 'shame' mean sort of a general shame in creativity in fanfic, versus the lack of shame in making a quilt or something like that? It's an interesting concept. And you say 'they', was it more than one person giving the paper. Loved to hear about the LJ icons!
