Oh, wow, I love that outfit, too. It doesn't make me think fairy princess so much, as it's incredibly elegant and tasteful. (I think of lots of glitter and tulle for fairy princess.) I'm now seriously tempted to try one too...well, after the rest of my projects are finished.
It's her riding outfit, all of her other ones are more stereotypically sparkly, feathered and impractical. She's King Midas daughter, so the lady has a lot of $ to spend on clothes :)
I think I am going to attempt a pattern and at least a mock-up to see how it looks.
I have so much in my stash and just...gah. I do not want to have a bajillion half finished projects!
I hear you! The only reason I am only considering it is because I could use a silk I have had floating around for 5+ years now. Yesterday I found some silk charmeuse for $2 a yard and dyed it dark grey for the lining. Still no progress on the pattern.
