Ah, cupped corsets, how they vex! I'm working on one for a bride right now, still in development. The cup looks very breas-ey though, so that's a good place to begin. :D
Vex is a good word. I honestly did not anticipate just how fiddly the patterning would be. I can't wait to see pics of yours. I love cupped corsets, but I feel like the ones I see most often are Madame Sher's
Madam Cher has a tenacious liking for the cuped style corset. When you compare her earlier works to her current, she clearly benefited from augmentation, and I think the cupped corsets are a great way to show that off without causing undue squishing.
For instance, with the bridal one, there is no breast cleave from the armpit towards the center front. Much more flattering for the skin that shows on a plus size client for sure. Probably lots of versatility for large busted as well. Also enhancing for the small busted! Anyway, I think more people would want to do them if the patterns shapes weren't so fiddly. They almost have to be correct out of the box, and can you imagine a cupped corset pattern with one set of front panels for *every* cup variation and band size? It boggles the mind.
I totally agree with you about large busted ladies and cups, flattering and comfortable (I really dislike side cleavage/crease you get with some overbusts). I don't know about enhancement for small busts though (Unless padded) I feel like it just enhances the smallness because of the visual proportion you get when you isolate the breast
