Yeah for finished script. I need to be able to write faster too. My problem was not having anyone to really talk out the problems with so being on staff and in a room where beats are discussed ahead of time might help. I do think with practice comes speed but I would be leary of writing for something I ddin't care about. Because for me the writting is best and comes the fastest when it is something I'm passionate about. Some story or character bit I just have to get down on paper and share with the world. Otherwise it is like writting a 10 page paper for the class you hated most in college but had to take to get your degree. At least that is how I feel.=)

Exactly. I may have a better chance of writing fast with a show like Supernatural, where the structure isn't as tight and I don't have to do loads of researching beforehand. :-)
Which Hereos Character are you? Your Result: Peter Petrelli
A hospice nurse with the ability to absorb other people's powers, Peter is unable to control his powers in the beginning. He has good intentions and only wants to save people from what he might do. He comes to terms with his powers and is able to use them effectively. He has the ability to become the most powerful hero. Issac Mendez
I am apparently Matt. I'd like that, but the description of him as being confused wasn't terribly flattering. :-P
And yes, writing faster. ::headdesk:: I am intimately acquainted with that problem, and caring less about the show isn't going to make you care less about doing a good job. The only suggestion I have is that if you trust your ability to revise, then the early drafts don't have to be any good. Not that that's ever helped me, but then, I can't revise. But I'm working on it!
Well, NaNoWriMo and other things have begun to teach me to *trust* my ability to revise...and I can, that's my favorite bit, really, revising. But I'm not sure that's what really slows me down. Unfamiliarity with the format is one problem. Also...yes. Not caring about the show isn't going to stop me from fretting if the spec itself is sucky. Still not sure his suggestion will work for me.
I may just have to keep writing and gradually get faster. There may not be a way to "learn" this.
