Did Moriyama ever resolve the contradiction between what Azmaria said was the source of her powers and ... I think it was the Soul Eater? The thing that possessed Az, anyway. Because the latter said that Az always had the powers and her parents feared her because of it, which would be more congruent with Joshua's story.

I always wondered whether Az was lying or what, with that.

Alright, I don't have my edition of the manga with me right now, but I will check it when I get back. The copy on OneManga never mentions Azmaria always having her powers, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was latent in her and then came to the forefront later on. It might not be that Azmaria parents feared her for them, because they died soon after she got them, iirc. So, it may be that Azmaria in her conciousness thought this and the Mind Eater read it as she presented it, rather than fact. (Take into account the Mind Eater and then Azmaria are coloring this story, so a friend of a friend doesn't work well with this series
