"I really hate the ones who try to eat me," Vimes shot back at Maladicta. They had been trudging through the jungle for some time now, and he was officially sick of Nature. He wanted a shower, and he wanted clean clothes, and he damned well wanted to find his wife.

The noise up ahead caught his attention and he looked in the direction of the dinosaurs, eyes going wide. "Good bloody hell." But before he could suggest they make a detour, he saw a flash of a dress. He froze.

"Sybil?"

Sybil had been taking a step back to direct Gus to the nearest sinkhole where they could duck, when she turned, blinking twice at a familiar voice that managed to reach her through the squalor.

"Sam!" she said.

"What the hell are you doing..." But the dinosaur thing was starting to get bored with its meal, and any moment now would likely notice the tasty human snacks sitting around. "Just- get over here. Quickly."

Gods, but he was glad to see her.

"That actually is what we were doing," Sybil said, reaching back to catch Gus's shirt nad haul him along with her as she moved quickly, slightly ducked, around a few trees until they were near Sam and-
