Buddy TV : The 50 Best TV Episodes of 2011

Buddy TV has nominated two House Episodes in their list of 50 Best TV Episodes.  Both episodes "Two Stories" and "Bombshells" are House and Cuddy centric episodes that featured Lisa Edelstein at her acting finest!

They were both very poor episodes IMO. They were extremely out of character for both House and Cuddy, the dream sequences were especially ridiculous. They both signify the beginning of the end of the show in different ways.

Looking back at the quality of those episodes though, compared to those since then, I guess they are 5 star. It's all relative I guess.

I agree that neither of these were what I would clasify as my favourite episodes and you are right they do both signify the beginning of the end of the show (I'm sure we all shudder when we remember the episodes that came after these ones) but I thought it was important to note that these were both "Cuddy" heavy episodes that gave Lisa E an opportunity to shine on the show - who can forget her "selfish son of a bitch" statement to House in Two Stories or her heartwrenching goodbye and despairing tears at the end of Bombshells. By choosing these episodes Buddy TV has acknowledged (once again) that House as a program really shone when Cuddy and Lisa E were part of the storyline :)

You're right, these were Cuddy heavy episodes, and it is is a positive to see Lisa acknowledged.

I guess I am just viewing this from the "glass half full" perspective (as the half empty one is too depressing) :)

Two poorly written flashy episodes. Not clever. Not House-like. Awful for fans. Bad tv. A complete waste of time.

Many people would agree, but still, stellar performances from Lisa right inspite of the crappy storylines :)

that's what talent means, making the most out of nothing at all. And she does succeed even in season 7,!

Glad for the Cuddy recognition (btw, her "selfish son of a bitch" line was also used in the Emmy's drama montage earlier this year--the only House scene) but like others have pointed out, the quality of storytelling in "Two Stories" was a far cry from previous seasons ("Three Stories" for example).
"Bombshells" was pretty good for such a risky endeavor (the whole breakup notwithstanding), however, I think "After Hours" was better, except for the fact that Cuddy seemed like she'd been sedated. She barely registered any reactions the whole ep which was completely out of character. Guess they told LE to downplay everything to make sure all the attention fell on HL's award-baiting performance...

Great points. I also noticed that they used the "selfish son of a bitch" footage at the Emmy's - it was a good choice it was a powerful scene and LE rocked the dialogue, no wonder they chose it.

"award baiting performance" - LOL ;)

This post is all about the "Cuddy / LE" recognition. As I said earlier - glass half full ;)

Best 2011 episode-talk about small pickings- was Family Practice, by a mile: showed an adult, tough but supportive relationship between House and Cuddy. Did I mention Candice Bergen? Btw that episode was also the 2011 highest rated

I can't agree more, and in that episode there was a summary of how intriguing their relationship could have been. Too bad the good episodes in 7th season were so few in comparison to the bad ones. Shore I wish you an IRS visit

I would have to agree with you on that one. It was a well written, well acted powerful episode! Much better than the two nominated above.

TWO STORIES????

They gotta be kidding. That was the worst episode of the series.

In complete agreement. That was a STINKER. Who chooses these things?
