Perhaps it's just one of those nights when she can't sleep - she's been thinking about Jasmina a lot, lately. At any rate, Scheherazade might timidly knock, even if the door is open.

She could use some company, and Adrian always cheers her up.

Typist thought it was a Farsi word for 'love/lover'. Typist is stupid.

"-- oooh. Now I get it!" He beams. "Well, it's always interesting to meet the family, they say. How are they, are you guys getting along?"

This typist knows very little Farsi, and can't find good online sources for it, alas.

"His sister and I used to organize parties, on the boat - I like to think that we are friends. There is a new -- brother, also called Armand, but older. He has a child."

Nooow you're talking! These people -- he knows them. And he likes (younger!) Armand, although his ways are rather odd in his eyes. "I think I know whom you're talking about -- your boyfriend, he's French, right? And wears his hair in a ponytail?"

She nods, smiling. "Yes, Armand - we met on the boat, and were lucky to find each other here..."

Adrian nods, smiling. "Yeah, I know the chap. Very polite, though in a way I'm not seeing very often. --and you look happy. It's good to see that."

*goes stalk*

She colors a little. "I love him." A beat. "Though it would not be allowed in Persia."

He frowns slightly. "It's forbidden to love in Persia, then?" he tries to tease.

"Not on the Sultan's law, no," she replies. "But his laws are new to my folk - and so is the word of the Prophet."

Did we mention? She's Zoroastrian.

He smiles, a bit clumsy. "Religion has always been a mystery to me, to be honest. I'm glad my pa--my father was never the one to impose it on me." He's amused now. "I don't even know if Natalie has a religion - I'll have to ask her."

"It mustn't be important to her, if it hasn't come up yet." She smiles. "Natalie is your lady, isn't she?"

"I hope not. Huh. I wouldn't know how to deal with it, honestly." He laughs. "And yes, yes she is -- have you met her?"

It is okay, love, I decided to cancel my trip to London b/c schoolwork and paperwork is killing me and I can't afford to waste 4 days for my pleasure. So I lost the ticket money... and that's that. I'll be online at least until the 16th of May CONSTANTLY ^^.

*snugs* as long as things work out.... I'm going to be a bit more scarce, though I'll try to keep threads going at least. I have thesis + intensive seminar + end of my creative writing seminar + not!boyfriend this week + possibly research work, if my supervisor pokes me. >.> It's a bit overwhelming.

He nods. "The two of you should maybe meet. She's a very sweet gi-- woman. And you are, too." He's not very good at making compliments anymore, he notices. Long gone are his playboy times?

Oh. Yeah. I'm pretty much in the same situation, and very frustrated with that. Cancelling something I really wanted doesn't help.
