Was giddy with having a good day today and bought cake pops for people at work. Most of them were unfamiliar with the joy that is a cake pop. Which I found strange, because they seem to be a fad right now. For those who are unfamiliar with cake pops, it looks like a lollipop. Only it is cake. Here is a recipe on how to make them that I totally Read more... )

Hmm. They've got thick accents, but I found it reasonably easy to parse? That said, I have no idea how easy it is or isn't to people who haven't been hanging around with Scots and reading Robert Burns poems since they were tiny. It's basically a written-out Scottish dialect. He has a glossary for some of the slang words (an entertaining one, because this is Terry Pratchett) but there's also just the spelling of nae = no, hae = have, etc. I'd say give it a try and see how it goes, because the Feegles speak pretty much the same all through, so you'll figure out fast if you're okay with wading through it.

I adore the Tiffany Aching series, though, so I'd say it's well worth it if you can deal with the Feegle dialect.

I've heard really good things about them and of course, I love Terry Pratchett to death, so I am definitely keen on trying it out. I was put off by Hagrid, though, and he's actually subtler than these guys. We'll just see how it turns out

Ooh, cake pops. :D I've wanted to make them for awhile, before it gets too warm outside, but I doubt I have room to keep them in the freezer before dipping them in chocolate. They look like adorable treats! (Also, apparently they sell different colored chocolates at Hobby Lobby. I DIDN'T KNOW THIS UNTIL I LOOKED AT A LINK WITHIN THE LINK YOU PROVIDED. So awesome.)

My account's going to expire soon, too. I don't have the spending money to renew it, so I'll just have tot live with fifteen icons.
