I bought this riding skirt for myself to use as a steampunk-esque outfit, hopefully for Halloween. Though if I really like 'em, I might wear them elsewhere ( Read more... )

*lol* Star Wars. So steampunk. XD

I think I'd wear steampunk sooo much more if it wasn't so darn pricey.

Yanno, if it wasn't such a darn good pun, I would say the term "mansplaining" does a disservice to some of the practices it describes. It makes me think "explaining with an air of arrogance born from unwholesome privilige" and just doesn't manage to reach the loathsome depths of "dictating things to people you have no fucking right to dictate anything to".

*ahem* *cleans up the splooge*

That is a really cool skirt. :)

I am totally wanking right along with you on that mansplaining point. And he does it so often. About everything. Maybe you could call it dick-tating.

And thanks! I'm hoping I chose the right size for it. *slightly nervous about this point*

Dick-tating is perfect. I think I will use it from now on.

I love that skirt!! I've never been into steampunk (me and any sort of clothes that involve layering have never been friends) but that's absolutely gorgeous!

...had tons of verbal venom to spit in your father's general direction but I've deleted and just going to go with ARRGHHHHHHH.

I loooove what steampunk looks like and the whole idea of it, it's just that most of it seems prohibitively expensive and I can't make my own, because I suck at making clothes. So. Limited there. But yes, I can see these being my new favorite things to wear.

ARRRRRGH is right. I feel like Charlie Brown.

Ugh. There is no sense in him acting like that. Taking care of a kid, getting good grades in college and having a life at the same time should be ADMIRED.

And did I just spot a Clue reference? :)

That was very much a Clue reference! XD

And yeah, you think he'd be amazed at how she's managing to do everything, but no. He's just sitting in his damn chair, complaining about everything. He complains about EVERYTHING. I keep hoping the roof will fall on him one day.
