the chorus was entrancing but the dancing was a lamentable mess

I have been far too hectic to post properly lately. I have, at least, managed to make some headway into the disaster area that is my room. This is of the Good. SO. I offer to you my thoughts on yaoi my belated thoughts on some of the media I've been imbibing, namely: Shrek 4, Glee, and Doctor Who.

Shrek! Also, please don't expect anything too deep from me here, it's been a couple days since I've viewed this stuff. )

doctor who, glee, review, movie, fandom, meta

After the wreck of dreck that was Shrek 3, I had no desire to see the fourth.... and now I still don't... only dammit! Badass Fiona! Is she worth all the other crap in the movie?

I hope they can do that without nullifying the fact that he was already dead and gone before the time energy got to him.

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. And honestly, I expected more joy from you at Rory's death. Huh.

Fiona does play a large role in the film, as she should, and the scenes with her as badass rebel leader are brilliant. It's not enough to save the movie, (make it good) but it's enough to make me watch it for entertainment. If you don't want to fork over that much money for a ticket to see BAMF Fiona, just wait 'til you can rent it.

I didn't want Rory to die so much as I wanted him to just go away. Which he did. Spectacularly. There's also the fact that, since they killed him off with time energy involved, he will most likely be brought back. And I like it when dead people stay dead, so this development isn't that pleasing to me. Like I said, I hope they either bring him back (as they will) without nullifying his death, or bring his memory back and leave him dead.

Oh, I am definitely NOT seeing it in theaters.

And I like it when dead people stay dead,

And that's so rare these days. ^_^

I know, which disappoints me to an extreme. It cheapens the finality that actually killing a character off has, lessening the impact of their death for the audience. Killing someone off just to have them magically rise from the dead seems so wishy-washy to me. >8O

I always hate it when the Doctor gets up on his moral pedestal to go around ridiculing humans who don't live up to his expectations. The whole thing is insulting, to be frank. Best of humanity, indeed. When do we get to see the best of Time Lordanity?
