hell is other people's hearts

This week has been one moment of fail quickly following the footsteps of another. I really wonder if I should bother with Friday night D&D session and the knowledge that, in going to do my social funtimes for the week, I shall have to confront one of the main bastions of gender!fail in my life. (Last Friday, we had a debate over whether or not the ( Read more... )

what manner of jackassery is this, fail, failboat, gender, get the castration knife, sexism

Wait, taking care of a baby boy's wound is supposedly going to encourage him to be a 'bitch or a fag'? I'm so confused on what the hell drives a person to even suggest that about a baby. Ignoring an injury isn't admirable. It's stupid and it leads to all sorts of infections and miscellaneous problems that could've been avoided.

My family is notoriously macho about ailments and injuries, but my dad is the worst. I slid down a private driveway, which was basically a hill covered in asphalt, on my rollerblades with no knee or elbow pads. I got up with the skin of my elbows and knees scraped raw and embedded with gravel, a cut on my head bleeding into my eye, and some assorted bruises and lacerations. My dad saw me and made me move rocks in the garden before telling me to go see my mom about my injuries. I suppose if I'd been male, I wouldn't have even been given the option of hospital.

GAAAHHHH. I hate hate hate it when people use their own myopic views to ruin children. Terribleness D:<

I agree, "masculinity" is such a convoluted disguise for "bullying" a lot of the time. Today's man feels emasculated because women make as much as they do, because they might actually need to care for children, and because they no longer dominate EVERY. SINGLE. JOB MARKET. Poor things *eyeroll*

Yeah, seriously. Oh, you poor guys, all of the sudden women are supposed to be treated like human beings whose opinions can be valued and respected. Now how will you get your special snowflake man-points?

And yeah. I try to hammer misogny and other such crap out of the kids at my daycare. They already make the statement: "There's no such thing as boy or girl toys" immediately when anyone says that a boy can't play Barbies.

Wait a goddamned minute, HE DIDN'T BRING THE BABY HOME TO GET HIS INJURY TREATED BECAUSE OF SOME MASCULINITY BULLSHIT?! LET ME AT 'EM, I'LL RIP HIS BALLS OFF AND TAKE AWAY HIS SOURCE OF MANLINESS BECAUSE HE OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T DESERVE IT ONE LICK. *SNARL*

...Pun so not intended and so sorry for potential mental image. >_O

I did NOT need that mental image. >_<

And yeah, that's EXACTLY why he didn't bring the baby home. Because the baby will someday be an emotionally-stunted idiot man, and is therefore not allow to be sensible about injuries.

I sorry! ^^;;;;;

AKSHFDKFJH It just makes me so mad! Any pediatrician would smack him so hard, his great grandparents would feel it, I'm sure! GOD, WHY DOESN'T STUPID HURT? IT'D BE REALLY NICE IF IT DID.

I wish I could develop something to put in the drinking water that would make stupid really hurt.

But I'm sure that would bring about the destruction of the human race.

I wish I had that level of power over my sister's kid. Fortunately, Nicole seems to find it just as fucked up as I do, and will hopefully put her foot down.

That really pisses me off. If a kid has an injury, take him home. If he got an infection and got sick, what would have happened? I am so sorry you have to put up with that kind of stupid behavior D:

If he got an infection and got sick, my dad would likely blame it on Nicole for being a bad mom, my mom for not saying anything/raising Nicole that way, the daycare for being dirty, or anyone and anything other than himself.
