it's just another manic monday

Nov 16, 2009 07:57

Monday morning is always such a downer. It's like waking up after having a particularly nice dream. On a cold winter morning. After your space heater breaks down. I don't suppose anyone particularly looks forward to Monday morning unless they have some extraordinary circumstances. (Like, Monday happens to be their day off.) Tuesday's just as bad, ( Read more... )

How about "days of the week have no meaning beyond the lotto draw nights"?

Ah, the joys of an unset, two shift switch schedule in a gas station!

It's probably best not to think of the week as something to be gotten through as it's inevitably something that starts again. Then you're just clockwatching your whole life. Granted, I haven't yet figured out an antidote to this syndrome myself, so. *shrug ( ... )

Yeah, I figured that the sweetness could be attributed to a joyous overload of sugar crystals. XD I do like sweet tea, but...damn, Teavana, that's syrup. I think I'll try chai at the place I may be going to on Saturday before I attempt to brew it myself. *has never brewed herself a mess of tea before*

Okay, I have so far been drinking Raspberry Earl Grey from those gypsy teas people. It's okay, but I think I like the spicy teas better. Any suggestions? Also, how does red tea taste?

Red tea (if you mean rooibos/redbush) is kind of woody. But then, regular tea is rather leafy. I'd say redbush is more honey-like and it lends itself well to herbal flavors.

Is gypsy teas a brand? *unfamiliar* I honestly don't know of any grocery store chais that satisfy my chai needs. Try some of the authentic stuff at an Indian, middle eastern or north African restaurant for perspective. (Though the Somali stuff is excessively sweet in my experience) For bagged tea, herbal samplers from celestial seasonings will do. But as a tea snob, I won't get any real tea (black, green, white, oolong) in bag form, and wouldn't recommend any.

Cinnamon sticks do wonders to pretty much any flavor blend. :)

It's Zhana's gypsy tea fair trade organic, and it has really, really pretty tins. *lol* Bag teas, sadly. I use that when I need to wake up, since coffee gives me an upset stomach of late.

And yeah, I did mean rooibos. So, woody instead of leafy, then. I'll have to try it out. (Woody does sound odd. Honey-like makes me interested, but now I'm attempting to taste wood. I'm thinking something like a dead tree. <8O
