God help me, I never liked Pain. I felt only detached approval for Konan's character design and ninjutsu. But, with the last chapter's total and UTTER FAIL, I'm suddenly inspired to write a Konan-centric post-fail fanfic. WHY. JUST. WHY.

I vote totally dead. I don't think there is a way of having him be alive that wouldn't feel like a horrible cop-out. And we've had enough of those lately. Plus, I'd rather see what she does without two stupid boys dragging her down.

Yeah, that's totally what I thought about having him alive. On one hand, the Rinnegan is like...Jesus. It can do anything, be anything, and basically act like plot Flubber. Might be fun to take for a spin, but like the neighborhood Lothario, it'll just leave you feeling dirty and cheap afterwards.

...And I admit, I like focusing entirely on Konan. Lord knows she could use it.

I love this metaphor. And yeah, the rinnegan is... it's like, how do you use it so it doesn't take over the whole story?

And Konan SO deserves some tlc. Like, so much.

I'm agreeing with redbrunja here. Because seriously. SOMEONE needs to be dead, and it may as well be him.

Also, independent!Konan for the win.
