God help me, I never liked Pain. I felt only detached approval for Konan's character design and ninjutsu. But, with the last chapter's total and UTTER FAIL, I'm suddenly inspired to write a Konan-centric post-fail fanfic. WHY. JUST. WHY.
So. I have a basic outline of the story in my head, but I want to know if Nagato should be: A) Not dead and Konan knows it, B) Not dead and Konan doesn't know it, or C) Totally dead.
Having him not actually dead gives Konan her guy back to nurse to health, having him dead gives us a mournful, sad story of loss and acceptance, and having him slowly reviving himself gives us the former, the latter, and fun with Rinnegan. I'd like him dead because it would give Konan more independence and self-determination, but having him alive might make her more happy. (Even so, it feels cop out-esque.) Any thoughts? If you guys even know anyone who might be of help, please direct them here. I'm new writing these characters and I'd love feedback.
